Cutlass Contracting is a Service Disabled Veteran owned small business based in Smithsburg, Maryland. Founded by a Veteran of the United States Navy, Cutlass Contracting operates on a simple philosophy of providing the best service at a reasonable cost. With over 25 years of construction experience executing work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region Cutlass Contracting follows a specific, planned path of growth with the intent to excel in a particular field of construction and linked services: the Federal Government and the Private sector.
Our overall construction management philosophy is rooted in an intense emphasis on the fundamentals. Safety, quality management, scheduling and site logistics are the traditional core elements of construction project coordination, but virtual design and construction (VDC), and sustainability are also increasingly important in today's marketplace. By creating strong programs focused on these basic components, we equip teams to tackle even the most complex building projects. Based on industry best practices and refined with real-world expertise, we use these tools to comprehensively plan, coordinate and control the work from preconstruction through closeout. It is a proactive approach that delivers real results.
Proactive quality control is integral to Cutlass Contracting's comprehensive project management plan. Closely modeled after the USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Control program, our approach focuses on designs key features of work and anticipating possible quality issues before they arise. This ensures that projects remain on schedule and meet or exceed the client's expectations. It is a daily process that is managed through the USACE/NAVFAC's three phases of control. Most importantly, we are proud of our reputation for getting projects done right the first time.
